The Lute Shop

So Dale and I have been playing in the shop a lot lately. He is doing misc little things and I am playing on my lathe.

Dale made a Lord of the Rings pipe. It works good too!
I am starting to play with turning Hair Sticks. These are my first two. Not to bad for my first try.

This one kind of looks like a Thistle.

They are made from we think Rock Maple so they are SUPER strong and will not break so easy.

I was trying to do an Acorn on this one.

Turning and turning and turning

Dale and I had a great weekend! Saturday we went to the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. The place where I took the wood turning workshop was there to try and get people to take the Fiber Tools Class. They also had their lathe set up and were doing demonstrations. Dale fell in love with the Mushrooms one of the guys was turning and put me to work making them for our flower beds. I turned these two out of some cedar from our cedar tree. They turned out pretty cute.
